About Bridle2fit

History

Bridle2Fit was born from a collaboration between equine dentists, bit fitters and veterinarians from the Veterinary Equine Bit Center (VPGC). During their work, they regularly saw horses with discomfort caused by a poorly fitting bridle or bit. A fitting saddle is taken for granted by many riders, but the importance of a well-fitting bridle is often underestimated.

Why a well-fitting bridle is essential

The horse’s head contains important muscle and nerve attachment points that affect the movement of the entire body. Think of:

  • The atlas (C1), where the head transitions into the spine.
  • The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), located under the ears on the side of the head.

An incorrectly fitting or too tight bridle can cause pain and discomfort. This can result in evasive behavior, an incorrect posture (such as a false flexion) and negative influence on movement. The same applies to a poorly fitting bit.

No standard horse head? No problem!

Many bridles are made in standard sizes, while each horse is unique. This often leads to:

  • Buckles at the wrong height
  • Nosebands that don’t fit properly
  • Headpieces that create pressure points

Bridle2Fit: Mix Match for the perfect fit

Bridle2Fit offers a unique mix match concept. Each bridle can be completely adapted to the shape and dimensions of the horse’s head. The components are interchangeable and replaceable, so you can always assemble an optimally fitting bridle.

Headpieces: Anatomically shaped for different head shapes and sensitivities.
Nosebands: Various variants, with or without flash strap, tailored to the horse’s needs.
Cheekpieces: In multiple sizes to place buckles at the correct height and prevent pressure points.

Even if your horse deviates from standard sizes, that’s no problem. You can, for example, combine a cob-size noseband with a medium headpiece for the perfect fit.

Innovation and customization for every horse

Bridle2Fit continues to innovate and continuously seeks new solutions to optimize bridle comfort for horses. Want to ride bitless? Then you can simply add a bitless noseband to your bridle.
